The Pebble Grain King

For years, "Buffalo Leather" was seen as the cheap alternative to Cowhide.
That is changing. Brands are realizing that Water Buffalo (not American Bison) is actually tougher.
Here is why you should consider it.

The Texture (The Grain)

Buffalo hides have hair follicles that are much larger and more widely spaced than cows.
The Look: A distinct, pebble-like grain that looks prehistoric. It has deep valleys and ridges.
The Benefit: It hides scratches amazingly well. It looks rugged immediately.

The Strength

Buffalo skin is thicker. Most jackets are made from the top layer (Top Grain). Because the fibers are less dense but thicker, it is:
- More Breathable: The large pores allow heat to escape.
- Abrasion Resistant: It is incredibly hard to tear.

The Verdict

If you want a sleek, black dress jacket? Stick to Lambskin.
If you want a jacket that looks like it survived the apocalypse? Get Water Buffalo.
